I love your blog--just linked to it from Cup of Jo. I'm doing a road trip from Los Angeles to Raleigh and will be crashing a night in OKC. I don't know the area at all, and can't find a hostel or a fun hotel to stay at--any suggestions?
Jessica - Thank you! What is your price range? The Skirvin is fantastic, as is the Colcord (downtown OKC) - but they can get pricey. However, you may be able to priceline them for as cheap as a roadside motel. Unrelated advice - I just went on a roadtrip and downloaded lots of episodes of This American Life to an MP3 disc - it made the 9 hour drive a breeze.
Hi Kathleen - I LOVE YOUR WEDDING DRESS!!!! (I had to type in caps!) Such a wonderful find and it suited you so well :) its so wedding-y despite it being short :)
How fabulous!! Home weddings always have the most personality. In NYC, they are impossible but I never understand why people with larger houses don't have more home events.
@ V - THANK YOU! (deserved all caps back at ya!) I knew I wanted something a little less traditional but still classy with a little bit of flair.
@ Mrs. Limestone - Thank you! I started to get worried that our house wasn't ready (bedroom #2 is still pretty much empty) but I got over the imperfections and went with it. I love having people in our home - I host a TV night every Wednesday that turns into a dinner the size of Thanksgiving. Entertaining is definitely a priority in our house.
Hi Kathleen, I happened upon this story on Glamour, and I instantly fell in love. Your amazing little house is so perfect! I ended up reading almost your whole blog in the past couple of days. I love all of your design ideas soo much. When it comes time to design my own home you can bet I will be coming back here for ideas. But here is what is wierd: my name is Kathleen and my bf of 4 years is named Jeremy. p.s. does Jeremy really have a fake front tooth? because mine does.
Crochetkat - Thank you for the sweet comments! I'm glad you've enjoyed the blog. It looks like Jeremys of the world belong to us Kathleens! He really does have a fake front tooth! How funny.
I'm guessing one of the Jeremys is evil and one of the Kathleens is evil. The question is are they paired up evil/evil or good/evil? DUN DUH DUNNNNNNNNN!
Kathleen and Jeremy live in a historical home built in 1929 located in the inner city of Oklahoma City. Kathleen (27) is an art director at Third Degree Advertising, located in the heart of Bricktown, Oklahoma City.
Jeremy (31) is an electrical software engineer.
