J + K: The Wedding

IMG_1222.JPG
On March 28, 2009, Oklahoma City decided to have a snow storm. I'm going to consider it good luck.

We hung paper lanterns all through the house for simple decoration.

This photo was taken before the mantle was dressed (thanks, Liz!) but you get the idea.

My sister did the food. It was more than amazing.

And then Liz did her magic. And check out the Old New York ceramic milk bottles she got us as a wedding gift! Love.

And then we said "I do" and "I do too!"

We had a fantastic party and a packed house. Thank you to all of our friends and family for your unconditional support. Xoxo!

Sorry the kiss is blur city.

I tried, but you guys move around too much. I think I snapped too soon and then tried to hurry and get it to take another picture when the kiss came up but it did not have time to focus. The most animated wedding party ever.

Were any of the pics in focus?

Haha! I like it blurry. It makes it dreamy and romantic. Thank you for snapping those shots for us. The ones that aren't blurry I've got a triple chin in - or looked possessed.

what a sweet wedding! if i wasn't already married i'd totally steal some of your ideas, hehe.
but seriously, congratulations! and hooray for doing it your way :)

Why, thank you, Lindsey Clare! At first I wanted to run away and elope. Take some sweet pictures at the courthouse. But in the end I'm glad we had a party. :)

I love, love, love, that dress and hair piece!!!!!

@ A "Cheery" disposition: Thank you so much! When I found the dress I knew it was the one. The hair piece is from Etsy seller Brenda's Bridal Veils.

I am so in love with this! I want to get married at home, too!

@ Cyd - thank you! It made so much sense for us to get married in our little nest.

oh your wedding looked just perfect! you can just feel the love:) simple, loving, intimate. just wonderful!

i found your blog via a cup of joe, i love it, so sweet. i'm taking notes for my own wedding!

@iheartkiwi - Thank you! It was our main goal to keep it as small and intimate as possible. We went ahead and opened the reception to a few more people - we had a packed house but it was full of people we love the most.

Thank you for swinging by our blog. :)

How did you attach the paper lanterns to your ceiling?

Megan-Joy: we used ribbon and white thumb tacks. We have plaster ceilings in the living room, so it was quite an undertaking but worked out quite well.

Thank you! We have plaster ceilings as well. I'll try it.

I love this! My fiance and I are planning a simple & intimate wedding at our home in January! You've totally re-inspired me and confirmed that our decision to have a winter wedding at home is perfect for us.

Thank you for sharing all the details.

btw, I found your blog through my neighbor Heather B. I told her about our wedding and she told me I need to check out your blog.
