Robbers Cave Getaway
Jeremy and I needed to get away for a couple of days. We packed up the car and headed to Robbers Cave State Park in SE Oklahoma.
This was the little cabin we rented for a couple of nights.
The view was amazing.
I immediately reenacted the scene in Into The Wild with these berries - you know, the scene. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it.
The cabin was cozy. And perfect.
We hiked around.

I can't wait to come back sometime armed with ropes, climbing shoes and my buddies.
We were desperate to climb these mountains.

We saw vultures.
We got lost in the woods. (Not really.)
And I reenacted scenes from Blair Witch Project.
We made the best pizza ever. From scratch. This is mozzarella, goat cheese, onion, tomato and zucchini with a garlic butter sauce.
We actually made two. This one is pineapple, onion, mushroom and local sauce made by Pete's Place.
We built a fire.
We made smores with dark chocolate.
We pretended to write songs.
And we lounged around in pink and red robes.
After making banana pancakes we hit the road to come back home with an entire weekend still ahead.

More info please! How much does that cutie cabin cost? Any links? Been looking for a nice cabin getaway that isn't too close, but isn't too far.
I made banana pancakes this weekend, too!!! That is so weird. Michael always sings me that song, and I actually like plain ones better, but because of the damn song, I always end up making them ;)
Robber's Cave is great and those cabins are really cute! I had never noticed them before, and now I really want to take a trip of my own there! If you have the website for those cabin rentals, please share. :) Glad you had fun!
Jessica and Ashley - we were in Cabin 101. It has the best view of all the cabins but all of them looked nice. Some were duplexes and some were more than 1 room. Our cabin was $88 a night. It comes with linens, blankets, and a few dishes/cookware but we brought our own sheets and blankets (to make it feel a little more like home) and our own dishes for cooking (we're spoiled with our own cookware).
The trails and the actual cave were great!
There is more info (but not a whole lot of detail) here: http://www.touroklahoma.com/detail.asp?id=1%2B5U%2B3607
Aura - that is so funny! We actually hardly EVER make pancakes and on a whim I mashed up a banana in them.
Oddly enough, I am unfamiliar with any banana pancake song...
I slice mine and push them into the batter like a button. The song is by Jack Johnson, I know that's not your style of music I just always assume people know every single one of his songs because he's our favorite and I want to have a polygamist marriage with him. ;) It's a cute morning song, he sings it when we're still in bed. Youtube it! Ps, I like the color of your hair in these pictures.
Okay SORRY, ten thousandth comment.

Aura - I was going to slice them and just push them in but I was feeling like it would be one more thing to do that could go horribly wrong when making pancakes... so I just mashed 'em and mixed 'em in.
Oh and I LOVE my color. We have to keep doing more of the same.
Youtube is playing now!
this looks like heaven!!
Thanks for the link! That's not a bad price at all! I'll have to get my husband on board! And good call on bringing your own stuff. I'm always paranoid using hotel and other overnight service's linens!
I went to junior college just five minutes from there - I could drive out any time, hike around, and hang out with the park naturalist. I volunteered there for a little while. It was awesome. I love SE Oklahoma... despite the culture shock I had! Everything is so beautiful.
Great pics. Sounds like such fun.
AMG - We drove by that college a couple of times and I was kind of surprised by what a pretty campus it is! What is the name of the college? Eastern?
It was our first time to SE Oklahoma - I was impressed. It was so beautiful! We'll definitely go back.
You two are so cute. Those pizzas look fabulous! :)
