I came home from work Friday night a total grouch and for no real good reason. And I just couldn't snap out of it. So, I took a shower, washed my hair, put on my big girl panties and decided to take Jeremy on a date.

We ventured out to Pops, a soda ranch and restaurant, off Route 66 in Arcadia, Oklahoma. It's known for it's lit 66 foot tall soda pop bottle, futuristic architecture (designed by my favorite Oklahoma architect, Rand Elliot) and soda lined walls.

With over 500 sodas to choose from (and we never drink soda) we settled on a Birch Beer, a Root Beer and a Dublin Dr. Pepper. We dined on grilled cheese, buffalo burger and french fries dipped in spicy mayo - we were junk-fooded out.

But an evening out with my main squeeze and a sugar high later I was all cheered up.

hooray for big girl panties!

I've only been up to Pops once, so I have got to go again. I love birch beer! :)

It's Saturday, and ya'll probably already have plans by now, but just in case, Elephant Revival is playing at 51st Speakeasy. Check 'em out if ya'll are looking for some prowling to do. That's where I'm heading as soon as I eat.

I'm trying out some tomatoes with green chilis, corn, and black beans spiced with taco seasoning and extra cumin over brown rice. Hope it is good!

Love following your blog. :)

i love pops dates!

Awesome! I just visited this place a few months ago during my trip through Route 66!

Oh man, the honey cola is unbeatable.

Ashley - I searched UP AND DOWN for the honey cola and they didn't have any! I was incredibly disappointed.

WHAT!!?? I AM OUTRAGED.

p.s. I've suddenly become obsessed with learning to snowboard. You in?

I want to go!!! That place looks amazing.
