Logo Design: Kathy Wolfe Photographer

When I'm not designing custom wedding invitations I usually have a logo project or two in the works. They're trickier than you'd think and take a lot of energy to create, but when I've created something that accurately represents an artist or small business I get a rush like none other.
Photographer Kathy Wolfe was sent my direction when looking for a logo design for her photography business. Kathy specializes in baby, children and family photography - she creates really unique photos that really capture a feeling in a time and place. I was especially drawn to her Polaroid projects.
We went through a few rounds of looks for Kathy's logo - starting with something feminine and refined, moving on to something a little more sleek and modern and finally landing on this more energetic and whimsy look that visually describes Kathy and her business on the mark. The hand drawn squiggle represents the energy she captures through the lens of her camera and the hand cut typeface (do you recognize it from my header?) speaks to the playful nature of her subjects.

Nice!
And that last photo is SO adorable.

Was this because of my tweet to check you out? How exciting!!! I really love what you did for her
Ryan - It was! Thank you times a million! I'm still (on the backburner) brainstorming a radial ambigram for you that won't turn out looking like a swastika. ;)
I love this logo. Its beautiful. Nice work friend!
Very cute logo! That "kathy wolfe" font is really adorable.
And then i read the end of the last paragraph about that font.
Wow is there a word for people who are unable to finish reading paragraphs? (it's not quite dyslexia... laziness maybe?)
Good Job K

Your work is amazing. I might just have to use you for my business one day. Need money though first.
Beautiful logo design! Love Kathys photography too. That last pic is perfection!
Love it! Hooray for small businesses and for talented designers who totally get it.
That this project started with a tweet makes me so, so happy...you don't even know. :)
