A note from grandma

I'm not sentimental enough to hang on to things like birthday and wedding cards but this note from my grandma, in which she wrote our initials on top of love birds, in blue ball point pen, I will keep forever. Also, the design and quality of this ephemera is to die for.

One of the highlights of our beach vacation was getting to see my grandma. She got to meet Jeremy for the first time and they hit it off nicely. Which is great, because Jeremy's grandma is pretty much my best friend and I'm so lucky to get to see her weekly. I'll have to tell you the story sometime of how my grandparents met, during WWII, sometime.

That is the sweetest thing. Grandma's are the best, aren't they?

That's sweet. I have a little collection of cards that are all similar to this, and all have birds on them. I've found them at antique stores over the years.
And I'm too sentimental. I have a basket of cards and little notes that I keep.

My mom still has all of the birthday cards my Grandma sent us sans the $5 she would stuff inside for our "little snack". Yesterday was her birthday and ugh, how I love her so. Grandmas rock!

So sweet!

I never know what to keep and what not to...I don't like collecting junk, but I also feel guilty getting rid of sweet notes. Sigh...such a dilemma.

GG might cry when she reads this post....so sweet Kathleen!

i keep all my gma's notes!

Ohhh, Grandmas.
Mine does similar things on greeting cards. Often she draws little pictures inside, too.

How lovely and retro.
