Anatomy of an Outfit: Red Plaid

When I was a kid I did gymnastics. I was horribly uncoordinated but excelled at flexibility. My parents built me a little balance beam out of 2" x 4" wood planks and I would practice cartwheels on it. I remember my dad told me if I did the splits every day for the rest of my life that I would still be able to do them when I was 80.
I don't do the splits every day but I can still do them from time to time. So yesterday, I was thinking about all of this and I thought I'd give a back bend a go. I did it but it was not at all graceful. The timer on my camera was threatening to go off and I was awkwardly getting into position when SNAP! a string of beads from my necklace broke. Beads went everywhere and I couldn't do anything but laugh at myself while Scooty Boots acted embarrassed to be around me.

1) YOUR HAIR IS LOOKIN MIGHTY FINE!
2) Plaid and jeans... really, what is there that is better than that? I'm a crossdressing lumberjack in a tiny girl's body.
3) I had a feeling the story was gonna go in that direction when i saw the last pic... this is something that would happen to me.
4)I'm kinda jealous you have a wall in your home that is not completely blocked by furniture. honestly, i need a house... and to throw away most of my junk.
So funny! I was a limber, yet uncoordinated, child as well and fought through dance for several years. Signature move: forward chest roll. It worked out mighty fine (appalling everyone around me) until I grew boobies, which became speed bumps. I think if I were to try one now, a string of beads would be the least of my breaks.
1) You're a blogging machine.
2) You're fucking hysterical. First of all, taking photos of your outfits is adorable and ridiculous and I love it. And second of all, getting into a back bend and busting-up your necklace is SO f'ing Lucille Ball I can't even stand it.
3) I think I'm falling in love with you.
3b) Not even tipsy-commenting.
I'm liking the numbered lists, friends! Haha.
xoxo!
I'll say it again - those boots are effing ridiculously awesome.
Merci - My feet love 'em too. They're like a second skin from October - April.
i love ALL your posts, but i get extra excited about the outfit ones! :)
Thanks, Abi! I'm glad you enjoy them. You guys give me a reason to get dressed. ;)
you look thinner. have you lost weight? (NOT that you needed to!)
former gymnast here too. i still try back bends (we called them bridges) from time to time, but they make me really light headed!
Shelly - Thank you! Ha! I think I have lost a little bit of weight from the big trek.
I can't do them anymore from standing (mostly because I'm a scared!) but when coming up from the ground I find that I don't get too dizzy. :)
FIND ME A PAIR OF FRYES - NOW!
You're gorgeous.
