When Jasmine from Experiment in Poverty posted that funding had fallen through for her wedding I was eager, if not a little self conscious, to offer up my services for the invitation designs. It turns out Jasmine was already a fan of my work (phew!) and immediately said yes!

Jasmine and Levi are a super fun, light hearted couple and they wanted their invitations to match their quirky personalities. Jasmine sent over a moodboard detailing the colors and vibe that they were going for and Levi worked up a silhouette that they wanted to include.

From there, I hand drew the type (which I'd like to start doing more of) and started designing away. The first round was very restrained and 2-color (I'm most comfortable working in 2-colors) but with a little push and shove from Levi and Jasmine I left my comfort zone and brought more color into the design and I'm so happy I did. I also usually balk from using black in my design but contrasted with the rest of the color palette I quite like it.

Because Jasmine and Levi were on a super tight budget I had these digitally printed and they're only single-sided. And because printing on envelopes seems to add quite a bit of cost to my invitation projects we opted for labels instead. When I finally sent these off for delivery I couldn't wait for Jasmine & Levi to open them!

Thank you, Jasmine and Levi, for letting me be a part of your big day!
