Everest Luck

EverestRocks

EverestRocksB

I came home from Nepal with three tiny little rocks from Mount Everest Base Camp tucked away in the safest corner of my backpack. Now they live in a little corner of our built-in bookshelf. Stacking three rocks is said to bring good luck and make wishes come true - at least that's what Buddhi told me. But really, these three little rocks remind me that an adventure that started out as a dream (and is now, once again, starting to feel like a dream) was in fact very real. And if they happen to bring me a little luck, I'll take it.

That is way too cool. Like, really cool. I love travel mementoes that make there home on bookshelves to remind us of an adventure.

Over achiever. Geeze.

I love it! When I was fifteen we moved to New York. I found a lava rock in San Francisco, and I begged my mom to let me take it with us. She said no, and my dad winked at me and tucked it in in the back of the truck. I've taken it everywhere I've been since, and boyfriends, friends, friends of friends helping move always groan "what the HELL is in this box!?" Oh, it's just my lava rock...I love it so! (I'm also carting around an antique door, but that's another story).

what a souvenir!

i'm from the coastal areas of north san diego county, + all along the beaches, there are stacks of rocks, 3-10 high. anyone can do it of course, but there are some artists + anonymous people that do them continuously:

so seeing those feels to me, like a piece of home.

I like your blog! And the rocks look beautiful.

Nicole - Thank you. I was kind of superstitious about taking the rocks but now I'm so glad I did.

Cole - I know, right? It's okay to be jealous. ;)

Shanley - I need to hear about that door too.

Jessica - AMAZING. Thank you for sharing.

Renee - Thank you!

That's a great idea. The colour of the rocks are gorgeous.
