Call Me

My fabulous friend Keri (who describes herself as tattooed and J. Crewed) is sick of boys looking her up on Facebook in order to ask her out on a date. She wants to know what happened to a good ol' fashioned phone call. Has the internet turned boys into total scaredy-cats? And how unromantic is it when a boy asks for your number and hands you his smart phone to plug in your information?
That's when Keri commissioned me to design a simple calling card. A sweet nod to more simple times. And of course, it's not just for handing out to cute boys - a calling card is great way to pass along your contact information to anyone who may need it. Because people are always asking Keri how she pronounces her name (first and last) I thought it would be cute include the dictionary phonetics on her card. I also designed it to fit the Mini Moo business card template - Keri loved it and immediately ordered some.
P.S. That's not Keri's real phone number so don't even try. But if you know any cute single boys, preferably with a job, holler at me and we'll play matchmaker.

There's my sweet Keri girl! I must say, this is my favorite post of yours. ;) I love this idea so much! Such clever ladies. Also, I'm still asleep, but I really did think "did she change her phone number?" at first. Oh goodness. Yawwwwwn.
I love the idea of calling cards. Seriously, facebook made a lot of boys wimps when it comes to asking a girl out in person. Hate it. I'd much rather prefer an old fashioned phone call.
Brilliant idea! I LOVE the mini-moo cards. I love the versatility too. It's playful, but also suitable for work contacts.
I really love the moo mini cards! I've heard their quality is pretty good aswell. They had a promotion at one point that my friend took advantage of for some free cards (i forget the size)
This is a really cute idea if you don't have business cards to hand out. Plus you might not always want to give more than just your name and number.
Fantastic idea!!!
Super cute too.
At first glance and only a few lines into the post: I thought that was her real number, and I was, like, WOW, that girl really wants a date! ha. She's adorable, and the cards are perfect. Well done.
p.s. I know some good guys in Little Rock, Ark., the 501-area code, but not in the 405. xo.
Send all the extra employed men my way. Thanks!
I adore the minicards. Just what I need for the bakery (I like to dream big).
Also, your blog is awesome.
oh my gosh what a funny coincidence! i was thinking about old fashioned "calling cards" this week and how i would like to order some personal "business" (but not really business) cards just to make it easier to exchange information with people. maybe these are going to make a comeback!
Vanessa - If you need a designer hit me up! I designed some old fashioned-y calling cards for my brother too: http://jeremyandkathleen.blogspot.com/2010/10/donny-vomit-merchandise.html
So simple and gorgeous! You do amazing work!
I'd actually never heard of calling cards before your post about your brother's cards, very cute.
If only boys would look me up on facebook and ask me on dates!
The design looks great, and I love this idea actually. I hate how now it seems like texting and facebooking is the way to communicate with one another.
brill idea, kathleen!
I'm so thrilled that you all love the idea so much! Thank you, as always, for the great feedback.
those are awesome! and yes, I have noticed and been bummed out by how much dating is now Facebook and text messages.
Oh technology, you're done it again.
love Moo cards. i just ordered some recently and was super impressed by the quality. went to high school with keri and kris. great folks!
I love her tattoo!
Karla - she has an amazing full sleeve and back tattoo.
I've been meaning to get some calling cards printed up for myself for the longest time.
Handing out a card is so much more easier (and smooth!) than spelling out my name a dozen times. ("T, not C. No, two Ls. I-N, no A.")
Must get on this now!
Hi -- I love the design and idea. Curious what font you used.
Hi Scott,
Thanks! I used Mrs. Eaves.
