This weekend I took a quick little business trip to Austin with my sister. We stayed with my Aunt Lynda who lives on a ranch with a couple of cows called Lucy & Ethel. Lucy & Ethel were both pregnant when we arrived Friday afternoon. My aunt kindly pointed out their inverted hoo-has and swollen utters to showcase JUST how pregnant these cows were. I said "I hope those babies are born while we're here."

Related: It's fitting that I just received a new pair of boots to add to my collection. Cowboy boots, that is. So on Saturday after our client meeting we got back to the ranch and I asked my sister to snap a couple shots of my outfit. I was trying to look cute at a 3/4 angle when I spotted a baby cow laying in the pasture. I'm all "Baby Cow, y'all! BABY COW!" and my aunt ran out to meet us and informed me it's called a calf. But A BABY COW, Y'ALL!

It was really cute and special to watch this little baby cow take its first steps. Ethel (the black cow & mom) would follow the baby around. I would by lying if I said it didn't make me the least bit baby crazy. If only I could give birth to a sweet little baby cow.

P.S. The Justin cowboy boots I'm wearing here were gifted to me by Langstons. I will be hosting a giveaway here for any pair of Justin boots Monday, August 15th. Stay tuned. In the meantime, feel free to enter the giveaway for the marriage equality tote until Friday.

I LOVE that picture with you and the clothes pins an absurd amount!

I just wanted to comment on your crazy rip shoulders! P90X must be going well haha!

PS are those GIANT clothes pins??

Andee - I love that photo too! My sister took it.

Tina - Haha, thanks! I think I need to do a P90X post. Maybe I'll post that tomorrow. The clothes pins are normal sized - just fun perspective.

i am a sucker for boots. i have a collection of vintage cowboy boots that are my pride and joy. i can scarcely be found w/o my feet clad in them in the colder months. lookin' good, k.

Do you normally say y'all? If not, I love that you said it here in Texas. :)

Great photos! There's nothing like watching a baby animal make its way around in the first days. And the boots are awesome.

Margie - Yes, y'all is definitely a part of my everyday vocabulary. It started out as a joke but not it's for real. Ha.

that clothes pin picture! love it.

also, baby cows?! awww. AWWWWWW.

BABY COW!!! :)

I'm with you, Kathleen.

Love: the clothespin photo, your totally ripped shoulders, BABY COW.

I don't want to have children of my own but if I could have a baby goat or sheep, I would in a heartbeat. :)

Love the boots:).........and the cows

LOVE the boots. Nicely done, my friend, nicely done.

If only baby animals STAYED baby animals. I LOVE BABY COWS! and lambs and goats and ducks! Then they grow up into non-adorable creatures, who I still like, but don't really need in my life. (I totally called cows, ducks, goats and lambs a who and not a that)
