Peaches and Cream.

Peaches

I have to have a piece of dark chocolate (like... 85% dark) every single night. In fact, my nickname may or may not be "Chocoslut" around this time of the evening. I pair a few squares with a glass of red wine and feel all sophisticated - like I could be hanging with Gwyneth Paltrow. Except for the fact that I'm singing a made up song about being a "chocoslut" while Jeremy and Mister Boots choreograph a little booty dance to match. But whatever.

So the other night we're out of chocolate and I had a sweet tooth to be dealt with. So I took stock of what we had on hand - peaches and coconut milk. My friend Mel showed me a recipe for whipped "cream" using coconut milk that she concocted for her Paleo cookbook (that I happen to be designing) when I was down in Austin. I thought I'd try it out. I fried up some peaches and whipped some coconut milk into a cream. The peaches were a little hot and melted the "cream" - but you guys - it was delicious. However, "peachslut" just doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Am I the only one that needs a little bite of something sweet every day?

  3. i have a serious sweet tooth. it's my enemy and my best friend at the same time. i actually just bought some delicious super dark chocolate truffle log-thing from the new "taste" section on Gilt. but, most of the time i settle for a 100 cal pack or fudgesicle. if i had a bar of dark chocolate (i love the Lindt with sea salt) sitting around the house i would eat all of it at once. i have no will power against my sweet tooth.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that GP is Gwyneth. Hehe.

  6. I have a HUGE sweet tooth myself, so I know your pain. I don't have a staple food, but since I am on Weight Watchers, I have been looking for new ideas.

So far, I've had frozen lemon Chobani, blueberry Chobani with a little sugar-free cake mixed in and I've also done the Sea Salt Soiree by Ghiradelli. YUM!

I was just thinking about peaches... I'll need to give this one a go.

  10. I make grilled peaches w/pureed frozen bananas (they turn into a sort of ice cream) when I have a taste for something sweet. It's so yummy.

  11. I have to have a small chunk of Askinosie or Moonstruck chocolate EVERY day. It's a terrible and expensive habit, but dark chocolate's good for you, right? :)

Also, the peaches and cream sound so delicious. I have a few ripe peaches and some coconut milk in the fridge - I think I might have to make that for second lunch.

I'm a little disappointed at No Recipe for the coconut milk whipped cream?! Is this a ploy for us to buy the book? ;)
in any case, your defiantly not the only one who needs a bite of sweet everyday, I am addicted to those "SO Delicious" brand ice cream sandwiches (Made from coconut milk) seriously love em after dinner.

  17. Jennie Bee - I tried finding the recipe on Mel's site. I think it may be there somewhere. But yes, because it's not my recipe to give and she's writing a book I feel like I can't share. But here's a hint - it's really really easy.
