OKC to RDU: A Surprise Vacation

OKCtoNC

Flight

LizandMicah

About two weeks ago I got a strange email notifying me of a change in flight details. The only flight I had booked was to Alt Summit, in Salt Lake City, Utah, in January. I was terribly confused as I tried to figure out why I would have a transfer in Raleigh-Durham on October 7th to get to SLC on January 18. Jeremy's plan was to wake me up at 4:30AM on a Friday morning and tell me I had an hour to pack my bags. You can imagine his disappointment when I got an email from Continental telling me all about my what-was-supposed-to-be-a-surprise vacation to see Liz (and Micah) in Raleigh for a long weekend.

A long and fabulous weekend it was. Liz picked us up from the airport and from there it was wine, coffee, food and dreamings. Liz & Micah's duplex was filled with laughs and music the whole time. I'll be posting more about the weekend this week but for now I need to go get rid of all of my stuff. Liz is inspiring in that way.

How was your weekend? What's new?

How awesome is a surprise trip to see your bestie?? I love this! I'm off to plan a surprise trip for someone I love that I've been putting off - thanks for getting me motivated!

This is awesome! That Jeremy, man, such a schemer (in the best way possible! tee hee).

Over the weekend, my husband and I embarked on a road trip, too. We drove up into the Ozark Mountains to attend our friends' wedding and celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We were literally off the map, in a cabin in the woods with no cell reception, no Internet connection, etc. I LOVED IT. Good times indeed! xo.

That's so cute! Sounds like the perfect weekend :)

Haha, aww! Poor Jeremy - I would have been so upset if I was in his position. But that was so awesome and sweet of him to surprise you :)

My weekend was ok - I was off of work, but spent that time doing a lot of baking and working on my studies (blech). Hope you had a lovely trip and I cannot wait to see photos.

Stoked to see the photos, hope you enjoyed it here in Raleighwood. Next time I'd love to grab a drink with you guys.

Damn Continental, Yeah Jeremy!!! :D (so sweet!!)

My better half tried to surprise me a few years ago with a trip to New Orleans for my birthday, but I happened to find a brochure of the NOLA aquarium just a couple weeks before my birthday and was quite confused as to how it got in our house... it kind of gave it away, but it was still a fantastic trip : )

so glad you had a great time!!

What a wonderful weekend and a sweet surprise!

You've inspired me to plan a getaway (or at least a day trip) for us.
