I love working with long-time blog readers. There's an instant level of comfort and familiarity. And even though they typically know way more about me than I know about them they always feel like a friend.
J&K reader Taryn (hi, Taryn!) contacted me to discuss a potential job - doing some branding work (through Braid) with a start-up company she's working for. We set up a time to chat over the phone yesterday - it was all very professional. At the end of the conversation she said "I have to tell you - it's so weird to be talking to you over the phone after reading your blog for so long. I can't help but wonder if you're talking to me in your pajamas." It wasn't "what are you wearing" creepy at all - we had a good laugh about it and I swore that I actually got dressed that day. I wasn't really planning on posting this outfit (it's not particularly interesting) but I want to prove to Taryn that I was actually, in fact, dressed.
Top - Blue Bird from wild.flower
Jeans - 575 (these are really starting to fall apart - it really stresses old people out)
Shoes - Aerosoles
Oof. I love. Love. Love. this outfit. It's so simple and yet so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe part about stressing old people out made me laugh out loud, haha!
I feel like this is the perfect post to tell you that I had a dream that you posted a dance video on your blog, and you were dressed like Jessica Simpson, as Daisy Duke.
ReplyDeletei laughed at stressing old people out too. i wear my favorite jeans whenever i visit my parents on the weekends because i have to be dressed for work during the week. their neighbors always ask me if i need money for clothes (i'm a school teacher).
ReplyDelete(Hi Kathleen) - good thing you didn't take it as creepy...for all you know, maybe I was in pajamas!
ReplyDeleteWow amazing outfit - so simple, clean and chic :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite jeans looked a lot like this after about 3 years. Finally cut them into shorts then the butt busted. I was horrified and devastated when I had to trash them. Luckily, I kept the legs and I plan on making a denim quilt like my grandma made. :) love the shoes!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pair of jeans I cut into shorts finally game out. Luckily I saved the legs so I can make a denim quilt like my grandmother made!
ReplyDeleteHollie - Oooh, thanks for the idea! ;)
ReplyDeleteTaryn! I can't believe I didn't even ask you what YOU were wearing!? It totally would've come out creepy though - and I was trying to be all professional.
