Whiskey

Whiskey

600full-marlon-brando

Jeremy and I popped into Shop Good the other day to tackle our Christmas shopping and I stumbled upon a line of Portland General Store products. I opened little sample bottles of various colognes and fell in love with Whiskey. I love the idea of having a signature scent and at the same time I love the way men smell - I'm always attracted to masculine, woodsy colognes.

Here's the Whiskey description:
Bring out that inner Brando with this elegant and charismatic fragrance, updated from a classic 1920s recipe. Power and masculinity are obvious in the deep wood and amber, and an unexpected hint of spice and floral complexity reveals itself over the hours.

Sounds nice, right? The downside - I have to promise Jeremy I haven't been macking on any rustic old men when he goes in for a kiss and smells my new cologne. Instead I tell him I've only been bringing out my inner Brando and making out with him in my mind. All. Day. Long.

I love clean men's scents. There are some days I'd love to wear men's cologne but know I can't get away with it. For awhile I was even using Axe Fever Body wash. I love the idea of having a signature scent too. Right now mine is Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana.

I also wear men's cologne! I looove the musky smell. But I've always wondered if it's a turnoff to my husband. In fact, if we're going on a date, I break out the girlie scent ; )

My signature scent is Ore by Zents. I've been wearing it for years now. It has all of the sexy, masculine notes I love (like sandalwood, coriander and patchouli), but it also has softer scents like violet and laurel, so I still smell like a woman - a confident, alluring woman. Men have walked up to me and asked what perfume I'm wearing, so they can buy it for their wives - kinda weird but true! xo.

Oh I love perfumes for women that have a musky, spicy, or woodsy smell. I like the masculine smell more than the feminine (floral, fruity) smell. But I haven't tried to find a men's cologne for me. The Whiskey sounds perfect.

I love it! I enjoy masculine smells as well, I tend to only buy men's deodorant because it smells better. Does it actually smell like Whiskey?

Funny story: an ex-boyfriend of mine ordered this stuff off the internet that was supposed to be liquid pheromone. You dabbed yourself with it like cologne and it was supposed to drive the ladies wild.

We never really tested it out before we broke up, but I did find out he had cheated on me so I guess it did work? hahaha

I was just thinking the other day how I'd almost rather wear my boyfriend's cologne and smell him all day than my own perfume

My signature scent has been Burberry (original) for several years now, and I never tire of it. It's simultaneously fruity and musky...I adore it. Here's the description from their website:

"A fruity fragrance with top notes of blackcurrant and fresh green apple Combined with heart notes of cedar wood, jasmine, moss and sandalwood, the fragrance has a rich and sensual tone Musk and vanilla smooth the scent for a gentle warmth"

this sounds divine!

like all of the commenters above i prefer darker muskier scents (more associated with mens cologne i suppose?). i've never been much of a perfume girl because i'm SO picky and sensitive to smell but a few years ago i discovered hypnotic poison and it's become (when i actually wear it) my signature scent (who woulda thought I'd have a signature scent! lol). it's dark, mysterious, sexy...i just love it :)

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for LIFE.

Though I love the size and packaging of that bottle.

If I had a man, I'd want him to smell like Marlon Brando. I have no idea, of course, what Marlon Brando smelled like, but whiskey seems about right. So brilliant.
