Leo Rising

I've never been really into astrology - I mean, not much more than reading my horoscope in whatever magazine I happen to be reading. However, over the past year I've become close with a new friend who is way into astrology. She puts a lot of stock in the stars - and I love that about her. So when she insisted on taking me to have my chart read for my birthday I was game.

I was picturing a woman with her head in the clouds telling me my fate in a candle-lit room - but it was much more matter-of-fact. The scene looked more like a doctor reading my chart than an astrologist.

She informed me about my past lives, gave me some business insights and told me the best time of year to make a baby. I also learned that I'm a Leo rising and that this is much more prominent than my sun being in Taurus. Now, I'm not sure how much fate I place in the stars but damn if it doesn't explain this mane of mine.

you. are. so hot!! :)

So what does all that "rising" and "sun" stuff mean? What were you in a past life? I'd love to hear what she told you.

You're so funny.

I've been reading my horoscope weekly for a couple of months. I tell myself I don't believe in it, and yet, there I am, every Sunday, seeing what I have ahead for the week.

Also, David wants to know "why you so gangsta."

Abi - YOU ARE.

Emily - HAHA! I was trying to look fierce! Like a lion. Clearly, I need to take some lessons from Miss Tyra.

Francine - Okay - I'm not entirely sure. But your sun sign is the sign you typically look at - like mine is Taurus because I was born on May 5th. But your rising sign has to do with the moon and is more connected to your emotions.

She spoke about my past life relationships with my sister and Jeremy. Both were probably my mom at some point - go figure. I take it all with a grain of salt - but it was really fun!

I had my aura read once and it was so great for me. I haven't done anything since, but I became a sort-of-a-believer that day. Grain of salt stuff, for sure...but still it's all so interesting to me. It all kinda jived in me. I'd love to have my chart read (unless it's the same thing as having your aura read, as I've already done so - do you know?).

Also, woman - I find these pictures of you to be fierce.

Nicole - It wasn't the same as having your aura read. You should totally get your chart done!

My brother and I were talking the other day about this where even if it is all "not true" if it gets us thinking about ourselves and our life purpose then there can't be harm in that, right? Also - perception and truth are one in the same so I'm not going to discredit it. It's definitely got me looking at the stars in a new kind of way.

I realize that this is completely unrelated but the bigger your hair gets the better.

I have big hair envy!

xo

Hailey - Agreed! I tell my gal to make it as big as possible when I go into the salon.

I'm even considering dreading it - just to get it that much bigger...

And while I love my hair (I do!) I think you're the last person on earth to have hair envy! You've got a pretty righteous mane, yourself.

That sounds so fun and interesting.
