Gingerbread House

This weekend my nephew, sister and I put together a gingerbread house.

This is a close-up shot of the roof that Charlie and I painstakingly decorated.

We had limited resources and did the best we could with runny cookie icing, old cookies and frozen candy leftover from last year.

Last night Jeremy and I watched the Gingerbread House Food Network Challenge. One guy recreated Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water! Unfortunately, I couldn't find a photo of it online.

I think next year (or maybe next weekend) Jeremy and I should try and replicate our house out of gingerbread. I think we could do it.

  1. That's so cool! It's too pretty to eat! Where would you start?

  2. Definitely too pretty to eat! That's why you have to make gingerbread men for eating at the same time.

I would start with a template for the walls and roof - roll out the dough, cut it using the template, then bake it. Then I'd assemble the structure and decorate! Decorating is the funnest part.
