Jeremy or my sister?
Or could it be Kathleen?
The first challenge was a 5 minute quick fire challenge. The objective was to create a cheese burger and french fries.
Starting at the top middle and going clockwise:
Kathleen created an amuse bouche (amusing little bite) consisting of a bite of hamburger and a fried plantain as a twist to french fries.
Jeremy whipped together a simple cheese burger and fries with a wedge of tomato.
Tara created a twist to an old Chicago street vendor burger and fries with a tar tar burger on a sourdough roll and fries serves in a rolled up newspaper.
WINNER OF THE QUICK FIRE: Jeremy. The judges (my mom and brother-in-law) preferred a classic hamburger with cheese. Tara and Kathleen lost points for not including cheese on their burgers.
The next challenge was a 20-minute main course: Breakfast.
Starting at the top middle and going clockwise:
Tara created 2 seasonal crepes filled with bright fruits, boisenberry, raspberry, etc. Served with eggs and bacon and a mint cocoa tea drink.
Kathleen created an amuse bouche of deviled ham on french toast topped with a fried egg and garnished with pomegranate syrup with an heirloom tomato on the side stuffed with plantain hashbrowns and a shot of godiva chocolate milk.
Jeremy served up a fried egg on an english muffin, tomato slices, a scoop of french vanilla ice cream with Nerds candy topping, a snickers bar and one peppermint tic tac.
WINNER OF THE MAIN COURSE: Jeremy. While Kathleen was pulling ahead with her shot glass of chocolate milk the judges were undecided. Charlie, my 4 year old nephew, made the final decision with Jeremy for the creativity of the tic tac.
That looks like so much fun! Although I have to disagree with the judges...Kathleen should have totally won the main course. Her presentation is tops :)
