Kitchen Help - Continued

I just saw this image on sfgirlbybay of a lighter airy kitchen with stainless steel appliances.

They pulled it off nicely! It looks like their solution to the sides issue was to add a cabinet facing to the side. We just don't have the time or patience.

Oh! And I should add that Jeremy and I are going to look into seeing what it will take to hook up gas to the kitchen so we can get a gas stove.

  1. Those wood floors are amazing. (Why do most people seem to prefer tile in the kitchen?? Or is that just everyone I'm trying to buy a house from?) They go perfectly with the light grey walls. And all the white.

    And are those FADOs?

  2. I know. I think a big issue with wood floors in the kitchen is just that there is more water and mopping going on in a kitchen.

BUT what do you think of the appliances in here? Does that make you think we could pull it off? Or are you still leaning towards white?

  3. I think this kitchen should solidify your choice in stainless steel. It looks great with the white cabinets. It definitely downplays the harshness that the staineless steel can have and makes it look very warm. I stand by my choice even more- STAINLESS STEEL!!

  4. I stand by white. I think your kitchen looks great NOW, with the white, and you have just enough stainless steel accents to integrate the fridge. Plus, it seems like the fridge is it's own piece, you know? It's right on the edge of your kitchen/appliance area, so it doesn't need to be matchy-matchy with everything else.

I guess that's my main point. Both white and stainless steel will look good. And you don't have to have ALL white or ALL stainless steel. You need to pick each piece for the direct context it will be in, and for the oven and the dishwasher, that's under or next to some white cabinetry.

I ramble. I like both. Both will look great. I would personally choose white.

  5. I never spend anytime looking at my dishwasher...

  6. Gas is easier to cook with - you have more control over your heat.
