One of those places included West Elm. I have a soft spot for white print on cardboard.
We had previously hit up Urban Outfitters where I bought a rug to layer with the cowhide. I consulted with Liz and Hallie on whether or not layering a print rug with the cowhide would be weird - we decided I should get it and if it doesn't work I can put it somewhere else.
Then just minutes later I saw this set up at West Elm and decided I was a design genius. Ha!
A rug layered with cowhide.
And here's how it looks in our home.
Poor Jeremy had to help me adjust and readjust the placement about five times last night. I will probably be doing even more adjusting tonight.
I love it. I think it adds another level of coziness to our living room. The only thing I'm not totally thrilled about is the pattern is printed on the rug as opposed to being woven in - but it was a really inexpensive rug and I do love the overall look.
I'm jealous! That would be a fun trip! the cowhide looks great in your house!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it. I think it looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI like. Can't wait to see it in person on Wed night.
ReplyDeleteIts super sweet!
That was a brilliant idea! I love the mixed textures and the organic curvy live-animal rug contrasted with the patterny graphic and modern cyan. Very layeredy.

I definitely saw you at Urban! I forgot you chopped your hair off, so I didn't realize that was you until I was in the car.
ReplyDeleteWeird! :)
@Shathar - how funny! Too bad I missed you.
ReplyDeleteI just got a cowhide rug myself, and I'm tempted to layer it. It's huge, but not quite huge enough. LOL! Great blog!
ReplyDeleteNiartist - I really love cowhide! Mine is no longer layered (I like the chocolate browns in the rug directly against the browns of my wood floor) - but it's still a great solution. Thanks for the comment!
