Glossy Typography
Working as an art director at an advertising agency I get a lot of promotional materials from stock photo and type vendors - Veer has the BEST promos though.
When I was in school "BIG ASS TYPE" was a BIG NO-NO. But now oversized type is fashionable - especially when printed in gloss on recycled cardboard.
P.S. I took this photo and tossed this direct mail piece in the recycle bin.
Hi!! I did see that series of photos of a pregnant woman, they're great! I'd love for my husband to take pictures like that of me but when I asked him to photo me it turned out awful! I said, "babe, these have to be somewhat flattering!" Oh well!
Neutra is being over done, agreed. I loved the hell out of it, which means I can not use it any longer...
Thanks for the pic, I kept the card in my files. The poor thing made it all the way from Toronto to Copenhagen, with my forwarded mail...so it deserved it.
I also feel that Neutra is slowly being choked to death with over-use.

J - Yes, I've learned that those kinds of photos are most flattering with fantastic lighting...
ReplyDeleteLiz - I agree. Neutra is becoming overexposed - but like Paris Hilton, I still love it.

Lynsay - Haha! I think I'll still be able to use Neutra for a few more months... In special circumstances.
ReplyDeleteSee! Now I'm jealous I didn't keep mine - but I'll just keep on repeating my mantra of "living simply and letting go". :)
getting this in the mail was by far the highlight of my week. well maybe not. but i didn't have the heart to toss it.
