Simplify Sundays

I kind of missed my Sunday deadline but I want to start a series on J+K called "Simplify Sundays". This series will document our efforts to simplify our lives - starting with our home.

I started with my jewelry. I had a TON (okay, maybe 10 pounds) of jewelry to sort through and got rid of a third of it (donated to my nephew's treasure collection).

I probably wasn't wearing 75 percent of my jewelry because it wasn't worth untangling and sorting through all the junk. So now not only is my bling all organized I feel like I have more to choose from.

    well this sounds like a great series and I look forward to your post. I'm trying to do the same thing with my life and home. I definately need to go through my jewlery!

    Nice! I'm in the process of doing something similar. I want every storage space in my apartment to be totally clutter free. I'd say I'm about halfway there. Doesn't it feel great to purge though?

    Busy Vee - Thank you! This series will definitely hold me to de-junking at least once a week.

    Laura - It feels wonderful to purge! When things get stressful at work I begin to fantasize about throwing things away. Ha!

    Bobbi & Creategirl - The jewelry stands are from IKEA - but UO has some fantastic ones! I love the kind that look like trees.

    Liz - I'm about to rearrange SOON. I almost did Sunday before you came over just to show you but I was worried about Jeremy's guts falling out of his bellybutton.

    Crazy i have those two EXACT SAME jewelry trees from ikea atop my mcm dresser.

    That dresser is too lovely for words. Is it vintage?

    I love your idea for posts on simplifying...I'll be eager to see what's next. You're right, there is something so liberating about getting back to the basics.

    Hi Rachel @ Bungalow Bliss - The dresser is vintage. I found this entire bedroom suite at an estate sale listed for $600. I was broke at the time and put in an offer for $250 and a day later they accepted! I couldn't even really afford $250 but am so glad I scraped together the cash for it.
