We're going to celebrate a friend getting a job, sleep-in, hang out with family, and possibly get started on the guest bedroom (with help from my mom).

What I love about all of these photos are the layers of texture, especially in the bedding.
However, over time I want to collect lots of antiques and maps to execute my original vision.
I think time is key here - if I find everything at once I think it could end up looking too cheesy or off-the-rack (as it does on the moodboard).
My mom has a wrought-iron bed (that both my siblings used through college) that she's going to donate to the guest bedroom cause. She's also going to hook us up with bedding as a wedding present.
So - first steps / possible weekend to-do:
• Get bed, mattress, bedding
• Paint (white trim and walls)

ReplyDeleteI have that "be my guest" room picture saved, too!! Our guest room is on my list of rooms to tackle but it's such a headache I don't even know where to begin. I need to just throw out every bit of furniture in there and start new.
