Before there was blogging there was scrapbooking. They documented the trip with photos and journal entries. This weekend Jeremy's grandma shared it with me.
Notes of Our Travel
This is a postcard from 1977 tucked away in the same scrapbook.
*Not noted: Jeremy's grandma was conceived on this road trip.
Hello Kathleen and Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteI´m from Portugal, love your blog, your house is lovely.
I have a question:
What kind of food do you eat? are you vegetarian?
Sorry about my english.
All the best.
Monica
Hi Monica! I think your English is pretty fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGood question. I became a vegetarian around 15 years old. I was fairly strict - no chicken stock, no gelatin but I did eat dairy and eggs. Around 20 years old I started eating fish and seafood again and it's a decision I do not regret. I'm also a little more lenient about animal byproducts being in my food (like chicken stock used to make food). Since being with Jeremy I eat a LOT more vegetables.
Jeremy is not a vegetarian but is very healthy. He eats a lot of fish and veggies. We never cook any meat besides fish in our home. But sometimes he'll eat meat when we go out.
Thanks for replying.
ReplyDeleteI love fish, we have very good fish in our country, we have a very large sea coast, but I also eat meat and soap with lots of vegetables.
I'm trying to eliminate meat of our menu, especially red meat, but it's becoming very dificult ;-)
Big kiss from Lisboa,Portugal
I think this is just about the most fantastic thing ever! I occasionally come across old photos with notes written on the back by family members gone by, but nothing quite this elaborate. You are quite lucky to have such creative relatives!
ReplyDeleteLaura - Isn't it fantastic? I love digging through gems like this. It makes me feel like I need to do more physical documentation of my life. Maybe one day I'll collect a few of my favorite blogs and create a blurb book out of them. Or maybe I just need to get a moleskin and start writing things down. :)
