The theme was Super Mario Brothers - so my sister made them a big mushroom and little mushroom birthday cake.
The party was held at this little park with a fishing pond. My dad is the best fisherman in the whole world (love you Dad!) and caught a few big ones.
The youngest one enjoyed a new football. It was quite cold outside - Jeremy had to borrow my sister's "Pride of Oklahoma" jacket. She played flute for the marching band at the University of Oklahoma over a decade ago. She quit after a year because all the other flute players were still wearing kitten sweatshirts (and not in an ironic Flight of the Conchords kind of way) and she was too busy making out with boys. (Sorry Dad!)
Our little blog celebrated it's 1 year birthday on Saturday as well! I found this J + K carved into a table at the park. It was obviously a sign that we were meant to be.
I've actually SEEN that j + k before! We always walk Hunter to that park, he loves getting in the water. And sliding down the big slide. haha
ReplyDeletei freaking love that you found a "j+k" at the park - so cool...makes me say "awwwww...."
ReplyDeleteThat Mario Cake reminds me of Bento. :)
ReplyDeleteAura - I love it! That park is so much fun - we used to field trip there when I was in elementary school.
ReplyDeleteMountain Bride - I know! My mom thought I had carved it.
Angela - I love Bento boxes. If I was a stay-at-home anything I would make bentos everyday.
