What I love about it: the space between dresses and the dresses themselves.
It made me reevaluate my closet situation (posted about here) in terms of actual organization and the clothes I have.
Here's another closet worth envying.
Nicole's closet at Making it Lovey is to die for. Click here to see the rest of her amazing wardrobe.
So about my closet. I just need to focus and figure out the exact steps I need to take to make it look amazing.
I'm going to tackle it this weekend.
And as a reward I'm going to buy a couple super cute dresses.
Do you have any closet organization tips?
I have some closet organization pictures and tips on my blog!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I can dish out advice but can't take it. My closet at home is a D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R.
I not only want Nicole's closet organization skills, I think I want her clothes too.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is cool but sort of impractical.
We're kind of in the same boat at the moment.. best thing to do is toss clothes you haven't touched in a year and make room for new pieces. Also, hanging organizers are amazing to keep shoes and scarves organized.

can't wait to see the end results!
i think you are already part way there with the editing. and also only buying what you really really love.
ReplyDeletei have to remind myself sometimes, but im always much happier with one pair of pants i love which were 200, than 4 or 5 pairs that seemed so cheap. (not that things HAVE to be expensive, but just that you should only get something because you love it).
for perspective, my husband and i share a closet smaller than yours, and we dont have any drawers or anything, it all fits in there.
we have a elfa system with shelves on one half and a hanging bar with wire baskets below on the other.
in terms of look, arranging things by color makes a big difference.
cant wait to see your final result!
My question is should I arrange by type and then by color within type? Or just by color altogether?
ReplyDeleteI was watching KLS: Life in the Fab Lane last night & they showed her MASSIVE closet. I have to say, I was incredibly impressed. Her closet was the size of a small boutique!
ReplyDeleteShe arranged her clothes first by color, then style. She did the same with her shoes, but kept her boots in their boxes. She took a Polaroid picture of the boots then fixed them to the front of the box so she knew exactly what boot was in what box. What a great idea!
Just a thought :D
I have always arranged my closet by type and then by color. That way I can quickly find what I want to wear because I generally know what type I am going for. It also gives a cleaner look because the same types of items are usually the close to the same length.
ReplyDeletei also do type and then color (at least shirts vs bottoms, and then the suits have a separate section). i guess only color would look even prettier, but i find the other way much more practical.
ReplyDeleteYour closet is HUGE! So jealous. I have a thing about a tidy closet, the Container Store is a massive help. I am a big proponent of boxes for each type of folded clothing (that way it doesn't spill all over the place), and clear boxes for shoes rather than setting them out. Much easier to keep tidy.
