This weekend was everything I wanted it to be. We hung out with my family at the lakehouse and ate trash (my mom makes a homemade Chex mix - but we don't dare call it that - in our family, it's called trash). We had lazy mornings punctuated with sips of coffee. We took afternoon naps on old quilts. I played with my new camera and started looking at some different lenses I may want to invest in. We went rock climbing - I felt a little rusty but was so excited to be back on the wall again. We had pizza and pitchers of Oklahoma beers with friends. And on Sunday we spent all day looking at Eastern European treks - Poland is a front runner right now.
This week I'm going to make goals and create content for Braid, wrap up some branding projects for my And Kathleen clients and start prepping for a class I'm going to be teaching at a local university later this month. I'm busy busy but I'm also going to make a point to take moments to take deep breaths and find inspiration in every moment.
That sounds like an AMAZING weekend. You had me at the naps and 'trash' but then you throw in pizza and beer? Even better!
ReplyDeleteYour weekend looked lovely, and congrats on the new camera. Canon all the way!
ReplyDeleteThat Trash looks divine! In my family we call it Scrabble. Looks like you had a fantastic weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe need to get together and take photos!
ReplyDeleteBusy bee!
ReplyDelete2 Questions 1. What is the best of Oklahoma Beers? (i'm kind of a lover for Micro brews) and 2.) What class will you be teaching?
Ashley - That's what I'm saying!
ReplyDeleteJennie Bee - The best of Oklahoma Beers is everything from COOP. My favorites are the F5 IPA (if you like IPAs), DNR and Zeppelin Wheat. They're all on tap at my favorite pizza place The Wedge.
I'm going to be guest teaching a class at UCO (just 4 classes total) for Graphic Design II and the project is called three-dimensional invitation. I'm excited about it!
Poland treks?! Like the polish mountains? Go! for sure! I was there last year September and hiked these amazing trails and had hoped to climb the highest peak in Poland (Rysy of the Tatras mountaints in the Zakopane region) but the weather wasn't having it. It was a really great trip and I'm hoping to go back in June this year to try again! :) I posted about the trip if you're interested...

If you want to hear more about my experience let me know!
Brooke - YUP! The Polish mountains! A Rysy summit might be in our near future! I'm a little bummed that it's only 2,500 meters - I'm not sure when I became such an altitude junkie.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are BEAUTIFUL! I would love to email you about it & ask a few questions if you don't mind. Can you shoot me a line at jeremyandkathleen@gmail.com with your email addy?
If you're going to Eastern Europe, you should definitely stop by Bulgaria (my husband is from there) It is beautiful, wonderful fresh food, great hiking and beaches if its warm, VERY affordable, with easy access to Greece or Turkey too!

ReplyDeleteI'm just finishing reading your blog (from the beginning). (Long story short -- I've wandered here through apracticalwedding and stayed ever since). It's taken me almost two weeks and now I'm little sad that I'll have to wait for every next post. It's really amazing to see all the develeopments and changes happening in your life.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, just wanted to say that if you're coming to Poland, let me know. I live in Warsaw and my very soon to be husband is hooked on mountains (and Tatras is his first love), so if there's anything you want to know -- drop me a line. Plus, dropping by in Warsaw would be a good idea too, right? ;-)
Ubyszka - I'm so glad you enjoyed the read! We're definitely coming to Poland - it's been booked. We'll be flying into Warsaw. Would love to meet up! Can I get your email? You can send it to me - jeremyandkathleen@gmail.com
