I bought this strand of driftwood at a local shop a few months ago. I'm not sure exactly when I developed a thing for driftwood - but it's there.
Anyway, I haven't really found the time or place to hang it. Or maybe I just have some sort of mental block keeping me from a seemingly easy task. And it was one of those pieces that looked so rad in the shop amongst all things eclectic and cool - and taken out of it's carefully curated habitat it just kind of falls flat.
So now I just leave it in a heap on various surfaces throughout our house. And it's grown on me - I kind of like it that way. Do you have anything like that?
We have some large pieces of driftwood that we collected from the beach here in Oregon on our mantle. I kinda of love them :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband collects (hoards?) a lot of random oddities. I still live with the man, though, hehe. I'd hang the driftwood over your bed or over a doorway, maybe? Kinda looks like tree bones. I dig it. xo.
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same thing and can't find where to place it either! Just gotta find a nice place to hang out or drape it I guess. But it's easier said than done!
ReplyDeleteI have something exactly like that... piles of drift wood actually. I collect it when I'm at the beach with visions of all the things I will create. Then, I pile it in various places and love it.
ReplyDeleteI have a little piece of cedar thats all weathered and odd shaped sitting on my nightstand. It takes me far away every time I look at it.
ReplyDeletewe have a driftwood mirror in our world's tiniest bathroom. i'll show it to you this weekend. baha!
ReplyDeleteIt totally looks like dinosaur bones!
ReplyDeleteI have a hanging plant that I've meant to hang on top of my window for ages, but I've yet to replace the anchor to hold it in my ceiling. Instead, I keep moving it around my apartment, and the beautiful long strands of green leaves tumble over all sorts of available surfaces: bookshelves, tables, windowsills, nightstands. I'll miss that once I finally reinstall it to hang.
