Do you ever feel like when it's your job to be creative that you don't have the energy to be creative for ... you know ... fun? I do. So when my sister (and co-owner of Braid) told me that she had this idea for Halloween costumes I let out a big sigh and said "but I'm so ... tired."
But we did it anyways and it was so worth it.
Happy Halloween everyone!
Thanks for letting me paint your face at the crack of dawn! My favorite halloween costume to-date!
ReplyDeleteI am so loving your costumes! You gals look great!
ReplyDeleteAww! You two sisters look amazing!
ReplyDeleteWOW. You guys looks amazingballs.
ReplyDeleteamazing!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic! Tara did the paint job??
ReplyDeleteabsolutely FANTASTIC. I love the color and the fact that you already looked alike, but now the paint makes you look like identical twins in the side by side image. So fun! I hope you have somewhere to wear it!
ReplyDeleteholy epic! My husband is literally OBSESSED with all things day of the dead. Best costumes I have seen yet!
ReplyDeletei freaking LOVE this. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteOh, so beautiful! I love it so much. Breathtaking, truly.
ReplyDeleteThanks you guys!
ReplyDeleteAshley - Yes, Tara did all the painting herself. Well, except her right arm which I had to do for her.
Oh wow! You guys look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLove your costumes! The blue outfit highlights your eyes!
ReplyDeleteyou look like twinsies. I wanted to go as day of the dead, but I can't even get out the door without smearing my lipstick, so I went with something with a little less paint.
ReplyDeleteRolerkite - Tara (my sister) used acrylic paint mixed with lotion - it stayed put all day but it washed right off with soap and water!
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
ReplyDeleteD'awww. So pretty! :D

ReplyDeletei was wondering how you feel about this. i'm not trying to start drama, just genuinely curious what your thoughts are.
Andresandcandice - The world we live in today makes it really easy to appropriate visuals and fashion choices from other cultures.
ReplyDeleteMy intentions are not to be disrespectful to anybody's tradition or culture but rather to celebrate and appreciate it. So no drama - I don't in the slightest feel defensive about my choice of Halloween costume and at the same time totally respect that author's point of view.
Thanks for sharing.
Awesome costume! Good thing that sister of yours was around to convince you!
ReplyDeletethanks for responding without getting defensive. :)
