My sister and I had a business trip in Dallas for a couple days late last week. It was the perfect kind of business trip that had me counting blessings and lucky stars. The kind of business trip that made me feel like I was just pretending to be the kind of business woman who stays in rad hotels and holds meetings about fun things like brand development and eCourses (in the works, y'all!) only to be followed by a very hip and delicious brunch.
If you're ever in Dallas you must visit Oddfellows in the Bishop Arts District. They've got nice branding. Nice atmosphere. Nice Bloody Marys. And killer food.
Thanks to Allison Barta Bailey for the recommendation.
Fabulous! Before you know it you'll be having your driver, Jeeves, bringing you around to red carpet events while you're changing in the backseat because you just got off a plane from Switzerland.
ReplyDeleteI love those images and the cool gray nails!
ReplyDeleteAhh I live in Dallas and love that place. The Bishop Arts District makes me love my hometown again (after living in New York for years and swearing I would never come back). I'm actually heading up to OKC next month for a business meeting myself. I'll have to scan back through your blog and find cool places to check out.
ReplyDeleteFrancine - That's what I'm aiming for. ;)
ReplyDeleteBianca - Those are Miss Emily Thompson's nails. I love the color too.
Brittan - Check out Cheevers or The Wedge. Big Truck Tacos is great for a quick bite. And Ludivine is really fantastic for cocktails.
Snazzy! I love the design of that menu. I want to eat there from these few shots. Proof positive that you're just great at your job - even when you're not doing it, you're doing it. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my! What's happening in that egg mixture? Asparagus? If you remember.
What a fun trip! So glad we did it!
ReplyDeleteAnd the nails are super cheap-o Wal-mart Pure Ice nail polish. It's my FAVORITE. I haven't been able to find a close-enough color anywhere else.
Nicole - It's truffle eggs! It was mozzarella, asparagus, mushrooms and truffle oil. AMAZING. And definitely not vegan. Ha.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot the BEST part of your trip, getting to hang out with your awesome super cool friend Hallie!
ReplyDeleteHad so much fun with you guys!
HA! Ohmygoodness. That sounds like the best! Might have to recreate that myself. I'm actually drooling.
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! :)
ReplyDeleteHallie - as always, a total highlight! But I didn't get proof. So clearly it never happened.
ReplyDeletemy mom lives in dallas and we went to odd fellows on my last trip. totally fell in love. pretty sure i even took a picture of the bathroom. lol
ReplyDeleteYES. THANK YOU.
ReplyDeletewe just moved to the DFW area and have been trying to find some new haunts without going bankrupt (and Yelp is often seriously disappointing. ugh). I will *definitely* add this to the list!!
Hey Oddfellows is in my neighborhood! And my sister works there!
ReplyDeleteI live in the DFW area and love the Bishop Arts District. I don't know how I've missed this place, but I definitely need to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI live in the DFW area and especially love Bishop Arts District. I don't know how I've missed it, but I definitely need to check out Oddfellows. I've lived in Santa Monica, CA and Boston...I miss restaurants like these. Thanks for the review. :-) BTW...I'm a new follower...great blog!!!
