First, we (and by we I mean Jeremy) put together the lamp he picked up from Target the other day.
This is a complete rip-off of how Liz has her reading nook set up in her duplex. I just had to recreate it in our place. Besides, it'll just make her feel more at home when she's over for a Mad Men watch party or mac 'n cheese Sundays.
Jeremy also hung our curtains in the master bedroom.
Ooh la la. These grommeted velvet panels make the room feel so chic and polished - that is once they're smoothed out. I'm hoping the wrinkles will fall out and I won't actually have to iron or steam them.
I definitely think we need to add some curtains to the living room to provide the same kind of warmth and coziness as well as an overall "finished" look.
I think these nailhead linen window panels, from West Elm, would do the trick. However, I'm not going to splurge for those when I could commission my dear mother to make them for me at a fraction of the cost.
Overall, the house is looking fantastic for still not being completely unpacked and our kitchen being a construction zone. Every day it feels more and more like home.
Scooty and Dinah are really feeling at home in our new place, as well. They both seem in high spirits and are playing with each other a lot.
They're favorite is staring out the front storm door.
i'm in love with that lamp and might have to get it as well. it looks like it puts off a lot of light, which i wasn't expecting from the first picture.
ReplyDeleteI know, right!? It's fantastic. I'm thinking about getting a lower wattage bulb for that lamp. It does put off a lot of light.
