IKEA!

You may not believe this but I have never been to IKEA. My sister and I attempted going to the grand opening in Frisco, TX (a 3 hour drive) only to park a mile away from the store, and when we walked up on the store discovered a mile long line around the building to get in. We turned right back around and drove home.

This weekend we're celebrating Brett's birthday in Dallas and decided to make an IKEA pit stop. In general, I've been moving away from buying pre-fabbed furniture found at Target and IKEA and investing in pieces that will last me (and my grand babies) a lifetime.

However, IKEA has some fabulously designed items for a very reasonable price.

Here's my shopping list that I'm relying on to keep me focused during our excursion.


I really wanted to focus on lighting and rugs but threw a few extra things in there just for fun. We'll see what we actually end up coming home with.

Jeremy picked up this lamp at Target yesterday.

I would normally overlook it but I recently visited Liz's duplex (previously, my duplex) and was enamored with her fabulous reading nook with this light hanging over a mid-century chair. I decided to totally rip her off and get one for myself. Speaking of Liz's duplex - keep an eye out because I'm totally doing a sneak-peek on her place.
