As we hit Britten, USA the car started making a funny noise. So we pulled over here and Jeremy fixed it (there was a piece of something hanging off the bottom of the car - no big deal).
I insisted on taking a photo to document the road trip and right in the middle of it he got the pee shivers!
And then...
Well, you know what comes next.
We made the time fly on this road trip by burning 30 hours worth of NPR's This American Life onto a CD. We were constantly pausing to have our own conversation about the topic at hand.
When I was a kid (and we'd take 36 hour road trips in a station wagon with no AC) my siblings and I would play this game (for hours on end) where you both have your eyes closed and randomly blink - one person is trying to catch the other with their eyes open. Then you switch. Or we'd sing show tunes all the way to Disney World.
Do you think the journey is just as much fun as the destination? What are some of your favorite road tripping memories?
When Chase and I went to Austin we made a couple detours at the scenic stops to play hooky in the car like teenagers. It was one of the best parts of the trip.
ReplyDeleteha! i think my sisters and i used to play a blinking game almost exactly the same :)
