Sipping on wine and strawberry beers we realized that we won't be spending the entire summer remodeling like we did this time last year. We can sit back and relax - enjoy the fruit of our labors. While summer is far from my favorite season, evenings spent grilling on the deck are unrivaled.
Portobello marinated in balsamic vinegar, olive oil and worcester sauce, with tomato, fresh basil, grilled onions and goat cheese on an english muffin - accompanied with gaucamole and blue corn chips.
We're going to have a good summer with a lot to look forward to.
What's your favorite part of summer time? Any plans?
You will NOT get to sit back and relax, because you will be remodeling MY house!
ReplyDeleteMuhahahahaha
That burger looks awesome.
Liz - in my unedited post I included everything I was looking forward to this summer including (but not limited to): slip'n'slide in Edgemere Park, FLOAT TRIP!, strawberry beer, grilling (all the time), running around like chickens with our heads cut off, lunchboxes, sweet tea ice picks, epic hair metal rock ballads, true blood and mad men, and last but not least - helping you remodel your home. But that won't be as stressful - it's kind of like the difference between being an aunt and a mom.
ReplyDeleteAs a rule I don't like summer, but I am looking forward to Depeche Mode at Red Rocks, home grown produce, and the end of summer.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get strawberry beer? I've had some boysenberry brew but not strawberry.
Kevin - it's Abita Strawberry Harvest and they have it at Byron's. It's really good.
ReplyDeleteYUM! You've left me speechless.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner looks yummy. I love grilling!!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to learning how to swim and of course, going to the pool this summer. Also looking forward to planning a trip to Italy!
Powers - I'll grill you up some dinner this summer!
ReplyDeleteStyle and Inspiration - I love grilling too! I had only previously grilled on special occasions but now that I know how easy it is I want to cook everything on the grill!
Oh! Italy sounds fun!!!
