Jeremy the Halloween Horse

JeremyHalloweenHorse

While Tara and I spent our Halloween work day painting our faces like sugar skulls, judging costume contests and taking photos of ourselves Jeremy had to actually ... like ... work.

He sent me this photo and while I appreciated his orange and charcoal outfit (complete with green monster socks, not pictured) and his horse head - with details like ear buds in the horse ears - I couldn't help but spend an obscene amount of time staring at the rest of the details in the photo.

How can I explain it... Okay - you know when you're a kid and you aren't entirely sure what your dad does at work but you know it's kind of important? That's what Jeremy's job is like to me. It's all very much a mystery to me. So sometimes when I'm here at home designing something rad like a cookbook in my striped socks (and very little else) I wonder what Jeremy's up to. I try to imagine what he's doing and what the setting is like. I try to picture the details - and this snapshot fills me in on a few: this photo tells me that he has a cozy chair, he eats leftovers for lunch at his desk, he snacks on almonds and protein powder, he is proud of his family, and he might be a little paranoid (see the little green mirror - I suspect that functions like a rear-view mirror.)

But what this photo tells me most of all is that I have the kind of husband who can totally rock a horse head - no matter the setting.

  1. I love it! The horse head's expression totally makes me think he's been caught looking at "porn" at the office. HA! xo.

  2. Nicole - Haha! Hilarious. For anyone too scared to click on Nicole's link it just shows a picture of a show horse adorned in ribbons.

  4. Brilliant photo!

I get what you're saying. My dad is an auto mechanic and while that should be the end of it, what does he really do all day? Good thing he was allowed an informal Bring Your Daughter to Work Day once and realized just how hard the old man works. And now, he's set to retire in January. But who will honestly fix my car after?!?!

  6. I kinda have a crush on Jeremy's arms.
p.s. that horse face looks like it just found out it's on it's way to a can of dog food.

  8. YESSSSS! Horse head is always better with clothes instead of a horse body. And I totally think you should run away with the circus :)
