Brand Identity: Greer Inez
Okay, so I know I fall in love with just about every single one of my clients - but Greer takes it to a whole new level. When Tara and I were going through her Start Deck Desert Island exercise with her she said something like "I have to have my lovers with me on my desert island. My lovers are: my husband, my little Leo boy and my greens. Gotta have my greens." And I don't think I've ever seen her without some bold neon pink lips paired with a neon yellow bra under a see-through white tee - a woman after my own heart.
Greer Inez is a bi-coastal photographer with some serious confidence and style to match. Greer uses photography + style to help rad individuals share their brave business, their crazy beautiful lives, and their creative purpose. She's got some bold positioning so I had to design a bold identity to match. Gold and hot pink it is.
Since finishing her brand positioning, story and identity Greer and I still meet, almost weekly, for coffee (a Sexi Mexi to be specific - which is an espresso drink with cinnamon & cayenne - to die for). We chat about everything from the joys and struggles that come with being creative entrepreneurs, careers + kids and our relationships, to the stars and our sun signs. She's the kind of gal who inspires me to embrace a little bit of lipstick and the word "lover"- but most of all she inspires me to be brave and to be bold and to be my authentic self. Which is probably why I've agreed to do a sexy post-apocalyptic photo shoot with her.

So fabulous!
ReplyDeleteShe sounds like a wonderful lady. I am so happy for your ability to work with such wonderful clients.
Great work, seriously. The gold is just killer.
Now, a Braid question... do you ladies do any work that you wouldn't put in your portfolio? I find I'm only able to show a small portion of my work because a lot of it was pushed off the deep end. Do you guys experience that at all?
- Lindsay
I love, love, LOVE Greer! I met her through a mutual friend (Laura of Hollywood Housewife) and she shot the most AMAZING pictures of my book release party in April.
ReplyDeleteI love the rebrand you created for her! She is genuinely an incredibly kind, helpful, sweet, and beautiful woman and is CUH-RAZY talented.
Beautiful work for a gorgeous soul!
Lindsay Jo Design - Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because Braid technically doesn't even have a portfolio. We share some of our work over there but I mostly keep it over on J&K. But that's neither here nor there.
At this point, Tara and I have become experts at maintaining control but also being very collaborative in our relationships with our clients. If they don't like something we get to the root of their issue and keep the conversation away from the actual tweaks that could be made to the designs (after all, that's our problem to solve). We also say "no" to lots of people we don't want to work with from the get go - by only working with our dream clients our work is typically enthusiastically approved.
So that said - I'm curious about your own creative process and the kinds of clients you're working with (vs. who you love working with).
Megan - Yes! I was working with Greer around the time she shot your book release party. Congrats on that by the way! What an accomplishment. And yes, Greer is a true pro (with style to boot) at what she does. I feel so lucky to have such a great creative to work with and now dear friend in my life.
Crazy that her name is Greer Inez! My middle name is Inez and my last name is Greer!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this!! As always, holy shit Kathleen.
