Done! Jeremy and I hit up Lowe's Saturday morning and got a few plants, flowers and mulch. I felt so lost and to complicate things I had no idea how much sun or shade our planter areas receive. How WOULD I know? I don't sit around watching the sun move around my front yard all day. This is where moms seem to come in handy. You just give them the direction your house faces and they do a few calculations and voile - they know exactly how much sun your lawn gets.
If only we could figure out how to get this lantern running.
And the mulch! Again, I was clueless so I picked up a few bags of rubber mulch. Made 100% from recycled materials including tires.
Now, hopefully we'll be able to keep these plants alive and healthy.
Next up - the grass. I want to have a beautiful green lawn this season.
You need to go to the library and check out the book Organic Lawn Care Manual...or buy it on Amazon. There is no excuse for using all that chemical bullshit. I actually have frogs and toads and spiders in my yard and it is awesome...well except when I accidentally skin one alive with the mower. Those butt holes that come by and try and get me to spray my ants and spiders piss me off. I leave them alone unless they invade my turf. Then its go time.
ReplyDeleteHeres a big ugly link to the book cause im too lazy to do html.

Sweet - thanks for the link. I'm not a fan of all the chemical bullshit either.
ReplyDeleteIs it a gas lantern? If so, we had one at our old house. You have to have one of those little net thingys that goes over the flame. I think you can get them from ONG???
ReplyDeleteIt is gas. I'll holler at ONG. Thanks!
