Wedding Invitation: Beach Side

My friend Caroline is marrying her longtime boyfriend this summer and asked me to design a wedding invitation for them. It's going to be a small and intimate ceremony on the beach in Florida but she wants to have a bigger reception for the rest of her friends and family when they get back.

I suggested we design an oversized postcard - one for the ceremony invitation and another announcing their nuptials and upcoming reception.

Matt and Caroline have the sweetest little daughter - so I thought it would be cute to include her (represented by a little seashell) on the invitation.

Caroline had these printed at a copy shop - which goes to show how far a good design can go with a modest print budget.

  1. These turned out awesomely. Love the rich color palette, especially the pop of red, and the baby shell is a great detail.

Also the light in the photos? I love summer morning light. Unmistakable.

  2. Looks fab. I always suggest brides use more postcards for casual events but very few are willing to go for it. It just adds an element of fun to the whole thing - especially for a beachy or destination wedding. Great job.
